TheRedmi 5 Plus in China is being sold as the Redmi Note 5 in India. But in China there is another device being sold by the name of Redmi Note 5. The indian and Chinese Note 5 are completely different and so have different codenames. But as the Chinese 5 Plus is the same as Indian Note 5, both the devices have codename vince. Edit:

Yes the Xiaomi Codenames are a bit messy. I understand now that it was a confusion about my Redmi Note 5 global, which actually is a whyred and not a vince, as vince is only Redmi Note 5 and 5 Plus (this forum) but not the Redmi Note 5 global. The Redmi Note 5 glbal actually is equal to the Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred). This was not clear from all the Codename threads from Xiaomi forums.
